Announces Dual Antenna Positioning System to Simplify Immunity
and Emissions Test Procedures

Park, Texas – EMC Automation introduces the DAPS-01 Dual Antenna
Positioning system, a computer-controlled positioner specifically designed
for remote positioning of two antennas in a fully anechoic environment.
The DAPS-01 simplifies testing by allowing test engineers to test
continuously across two antenna bandwidths without interruption, so EMC
test laboratories can realize significant time savings. The DAPS-01 system
combines a dual antenna mast, turntable, and remote system control unit to
allow antenna positioning in both in the horizontal and vertical planes
from the control room.
The DAPS-01 dual
antenna mast uses a pneumatic mechanism mounted on a high-quality
commercial fiberglass antenna mast to switch between horizontal and
vertical antenna polarization (antenna height can be adjusted manually).
An integrated turntable rotates the DAPS-01 mast to change between test
antennas and positions with ±1° accuracy. The dimensions of the mast and
turntable are designed to meet a customer's required illumination area.
The Dual Antenna Positioning system is remotely controlled with the EMC Automation
SI-300 controller using fiber optic links, eliminating a
potential interference source. The SI-300 can be computer-controlled over
a standard IEEE-488 bus.
